Commanding Officer:"Corporal, gather your men, you've got a new mission."
After recovering from the battle at Biffontaine where your unit had just been relieved, you recieved orders to rescue the 36 Infantry Division who Major General Dahlquist had ordered to push into enemy territory, leading to them being surrounded by German troops.
[[Gather Men]]
[[Refuse]] The C.O. calls you a traitor, then proceeds to pull out his handgun and shoot you in the head.
You are later claimed to be a casualty of the battle, with the cause of death never uncovered.
Your squad gets assigned a new leader and is forced to take on the mission to save the 'Lost' Battalion where they are wiped out.
(link-goto: "Restart", ("France 1944"))"Alright men, we have got new orders and they are to rescue some cowboys who got too bold. Command needs us to save them at all costs."
Some of the men gripe about having to clean up Dahlquist's mess, but gather their gear anyway.
[[Continue]]You and your men proceed to march into the Vosges Mountains, not really coming across anyone else
You start to hear movement and voices up ahead.
[[Have one of your squad scout ahead]]
[[Blindly March forward]] You send a younger member of your squad to scout the way ahead.
"Morita go through the brush up ahead and find out what that noise was. Report back at 0230"
"I'm on it, sir!"
When he returns Morita reports, "Sir, there is an enemy tank up ahead as well as a squad of germans soldiers."
Using this information You prepare your squad to deal with the enemy.
[[Deal with the Tank]]
[[Focus on the mission and move on]] You take your squad through the underbrush slowly getting closer to the noise.
(link-goto: "Proceed", (either: "Maintain the Push through the Vosges Mountains", "Continue Forward")) Due to the lack of caution and preparation, you and your squad are caught off guard
"Morita get your men and flank that tank!"
"I can't sir!" Morita responds before getting shot.
You are all destroyed by the enemy troops.
(link-goto: "Restart", ("France 1944"))"We should deal with these bastards while we have the chance." You hear Morita say from behind you.
Impressed with his eagerness to destroy the enemy, you command, "Morita! You and Kuroki go take cover within those traes and get a bazooka ready to destroy that tank."
"You got it sir!"
[[Successfully Destroy Tank]] "Sir, should we blow up the tank?" Morita asks.
"No, we have a mission to accomplish. We'll leave it for another company to take care of."
Morita looks surprised, but salutes you.
You and your men quietly move past the German tank to meet up with 2nd Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel James Hanley.
[[Maintain the Push through the Vosges Mountains]]
At 0400 you give the signal to Morita and Kuroki to fire the bazooka and the tank goes up in flames.
The counter attack by the Germans failed.
You and your men set up camp after destroying the tank.
[[Rest for the evening]] On continuing the push through the Vosges, your squad encounters members of the 100th Battalion chasing an enemy squad.
"You got 'em on the run, huh?" Kuroki says jokingly to Yamazaki of the 100th Battalion.
"Yeah, them bastards didn't see us coming and dropped everything. We grabbed the ammo they left behind and have been on their heels all day"
[[Help the 100th]]
[[Ignore the 100th ]] Giving your men a much needed reprieve, you take first watch and record the events of the day in your log.
At the break of dawn, you see a group of Americans in the distance.
[[Come across other members of the 2nd Battalion]] You are led into a German trap where you and the 100th Batallion face an artillery barrage for an hour and a half.
Within the first 5 mintues, you and your squad are slaughtered by the artillery fire.
(link-goto: "Restart", ("France 1944"))You decide your mission to help the 'Lost' Battalion is more important than helping the 100th.
You and your squad eat dinner with the 100th and leave while they are all asleep.
[[Meet up with the 2nd battalion after hill 617]] Your squad meets up with with a few other squads who are planning a surprise attack at hill 617
You speak with 2nd Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel James Hanley, "Have your squad join 2nd Battalion's F Company. You will circle behind the enemy troops around Hill 617."
"Yes, sir. Where will E and G company be focused?"
"G Company will spread itself thin so the Germans will think they are a full a battalion. At dawn, G Company will attack frontally. E and F Companies will attack Hill 617 from the west, storm down from the high ground and surprising the Germans.
You salute Lieutenant Colonel James Hanley and head back to inform your squad.

[[Start the final push towards the 'Lost' Battalion]] Your squad joins F Company and as G Company attacks from the front, E and F companies attack Hill 617 from the west after storming down from the high ground.
The Germans are taken by surprise.
The 2nd Battalion quickly takes Hill 617 and captures a number of German prisoners.
In spite of being in need of rest, the 2nd Battalion is commanded to make the final push to regain contact with the 'Lost' Battalion
(link-goto: "Attempt the Rescue", (either: "Succeed in Regaining Contact with the 'Lost' Battalion ", "Sacrifice yourself in the Mission")) Your squad joins F Company and as G Company attacks from the front, E and F companies attack Hill 617 from the west after storming down from the high ground.

The 2nd Battalion quickly takes Hill 617 and captures a number of German prisoners.
You take a moment to pat each other on the back. "Well done. It's only a matter of time before we rescue those Texans."
As you begin to celebrate, you and the 2nd Battalion are commanded to make the final push to regain contact with the 'Lost' Battalion
(link-goto: "Attempt the Rescue", (either: "Most of your squad is decimated, but the mission succeeds", "Your entire squad is slaughtered including yourself"))After repeated frontal assaults had failed to drive the enemy from the hill, you and your squad join Companies I and K of the 3rd Battalion.
Together, with a mixture of rage, exhaustion and desperation, you and your men charge up the slopes screaming, "AHHHHHHHH......KILL 'EM!!!!!
Throwing caution to the wind, Companies I and K of the 3rd Battalion attack the enemy with fixed bayonets as they charge up the slopes shouting and wildly spraying bullets at the enemy, as the enemy fired point blank into their ranks.
Despite being shot at by the enemy, you and your men continue the assault and close in on the enemy nearing the their machine guns.
You, Morita and Kuroki along with other men from Companies I and K come across and charge the German gun emplacements with your Thompson Sub-machine guns, killing and seriously wounding the enemy gun crew.
Unnerved by the vicious bayonet charge, the enemy flees in confusion.
Though seriously depleted in man power, the 3rd Battalion hurls back two determined enemy counter attacks and after reducing a heavily mined roadblock, finally establish contact with the besieged 'Lost' Battalion.

As the enemy runs away, you look around and discover most of your squad is decimated.
A movement catches your eye and you see Yamazaki laying on the frozen ground, moaning. You walk over to him and he hands you his journal asking for you to send it to his family.
You watch as the life drains from his eyes.
The loss of your friend hits you hard, but you are ordered to continue on with the mission.
After reducing a heavily mined roadblock, you and the remaining members of the 3rd Battalion finally establish contact with the besieged 'Lost' Battalion.

Watching your squad run past you and charge the German gun emplacements with their Thompson Sub-machine guns, killing and seriously wounding the enemy gun crew, you pull your bayonet from the enemy and suddenly feel something cold hit your heart and you fall to the ground.
The last thing you see is the Germans running away and you smile as the life drains from your body.

Suddenly you feel yourself hurled around in a circle and realize you've been hit by a bullet.
As you fall to the ground, you see an airplane fly overhead and hear the whistling sound of something falling from the sky.
A loud explosion fills your ears as you and your squad become engulfed by fire.
In your last moments alive you laugh maniaclly at the irony of feeling the first warmth on your skin in months, before your body and those around you go up in flames.
(link-goto: "Restart", ("France 1944"))At the end of the war, on the long shipride home, you feel the numbness begin to thaw as you read through Yamazaki's journal and wonder what you will tell his parents. As the only survivor from your internment camp, you feel the guilt of surviving overwhelm you.
You have been taught not to show your emotion, so you hold in your pain until you are alone in your cabin.
Opening a bottle of whiskey, you drink several shots and begin to siletnly cry at the loss of your friend, the loss of your squad and the pain you will see in the eyes of the families when you arrive back home.
(link-goto: "Restart", ("France 1944"))With the onset of World War II, the United States intered anyone with Japanese ancestry after the attack on Pearl Harbor. In order to prove that they were loyal Second Generation Japanese-Americans or "Nisei" were given the chance to serve in new segregated units like the 100th and the 442nd. In this game you be in control of a Nisei Corporal in charge of a small squad from the 442nd Regimental Combat Team that fights in the European Theater of combat specifically in France, where you will face German troops.
The goal of this game is to rescue US troops that were forced by Major General Dahlquist to push too far into enemy territory where they got surrounded and were trapped for a few days. The squad your character is in charge of is completely fictitious, as such regardless of the choices you choose to make the end result is that the Lost Battalion(troops mentioned earlier) will be rescued by the combined effort of the 442nd and what remained of the 100th.
