You are the age of 14. Your family lives on land in an area near near the Makelumne river. You're part of the Nisenan Tribe that often trades with the Miwok and Washo tribes to the south. You parents work with other tribe members for a "James Marshall."

There are rumors about James Marshall discovering gold at Sutter's Mill to the north along the American River.

The word is out "Gold has been found in considerable quantities!"

Soon your small area where your family and the rest of your tribe live has been innundated by many settlers from different areas all looking to strike it rich.
[[Later that Year]]It is 1855.
You now work for a company that ownes the mine and live and work in a town owned by the company that bought the mine. Your indian heritage and family left in the past.
[[Game Over]] You arrive at a settler camp where other indians are bound and awaiting their fate.
*The group of settlers slowly kill the grouped indians one by one*
Slowly you see other members of your tribe fall down lifelessly around you.
*Crying you accept your fate as you see you are next.*
[[Game Over]]With no living parents remaining you are placed in the custody of settlers. You were obtained for intenture service to the settling family for your "safety." You will work for the forseable future and all wages you earn until you are 18 years of age will go to the family you serve.
You do not have any rights since the 1850 Act for the Government and Protection of Indians.
[[Game Over]]Soon there is a mix of settlers and Indians living around many settlers from the North a place called Oregon. Your parents have lost their job working for James Marshall however they found work working at a nearby ranch.
Fellow indians were not so lucky being beaten and killed for their land near the river which was percieved to contain gold.
You had [[chores]] to do.While searching for food in the river a settler yells.
"He is trying to steal our gold!"
A large group of settlers start to approach you.
What do you do?

[[Run up stream]]This is your first hunt alone but you remeber your father teaching you how to take down deer and elk with a bow.
You know woods nearby where deer are often found.
[[Approach woods]]You go down the river to where you know wild onions sweet potatoes and other food grow.
You see tents and a small camp set up near the area where the best food grows.
What shall you do?

[[Return Home|chores]]You think that you have evaided the watch of the settlers and decided to try your luck fishing again.
You find a large amount of fish
[[Attempt to catch fish]]With Settlers out of sight you find salmon and some clams.

[[Return home]]A group of angry settlers see you.
**They start shouting and running toward you**
You panic and instict kicks in.

[[Run fast | ending soon]]With a good amount of food you start to prepare dinner for your family.
[[Continue | 1849]]You slowly creep into the camp and slowly start to gather materials.
Take food and [[Return home]] It was up to you to gather food for your family.
You could [[Search the river]], [[attempt to hunt animals]], [[forage for food]]One year has passed it is now 1849.
Your family and other members of your tribe no longer hunt but purchase food and dress like the other residents of the area.
Slowly your tribe tries to assimilate with other settlers and immigrants.
What was formerly small tribelets now started to become the early seemings of a town.

[[Contiue|Ending Four]]A year later it is now 1850.
(The *Act for the Government and Protection of Indians* has passed on April 22, 1850.)
This would cause your life to change.
It would allow white settlers to indenture indians for crimes.
Indians who no longer had parents and where under the age of 18 could also become indentured.
Your family has decided to move away due to the way the new settlers of the area have been treating fellow indians with killings.

You have aquired a basket full of salmon and sturgeon.
With your basket full the sun is starting to set you better hurry [[home.|Return home]]
You spot a large deer that will easily feed your family.
It is a little ways in the distance what do you do?

[[Get closer]]You missed the deer and it ran away.
With no target you can run home and try something else or slowly return home hungry.

[[Walk Home| hungry]]You are now close enough to the deer it might spot you. *You slowly draw your bow*
[[Fire Arrow]]Your arrow pierces the deer in the chest and it falls to the ground.
You approach your kill and notice the size of the deer will be too much to carry. You can drag the deer out of the woods for help or take some meat and return home. What will you do?

Cut some meats and [[Return home]] A few hours pass but you finally manage to get the deer out into a clearing. Some fellow indians see you and offer help if you share the deer.

[[Refuse to share | selfish]]The other indians are older and larger than you and take the deer away from you. Now the sun is setting and you don't have anything to take home.

You return home without food but your family will survive
[[Time passes| 1849]]More settlers are upstream and you are unable to find fish.
*Time Passes and you run out of time to fish*
[[Return home| hungry]]Your family and you proceed to try to move towards the coast and give up what remains of their land that you grew up upon.
A month into your move your family was attacked while passing through another mining town. You were able to run away and were the only survivor.
However while running away you were [[caught|Ending Three]]It is now 1851 and you have found work in the mine.
You now work and make money to pay for things. American culture is now starting to be seen around you and as a necessity you learn to live with it.
At first it was uncomfortable but you finally are able to fit in with non-white immigrants.
